Practice Area: Insurance Defense - General,Trucking and Auto Defense,Transportation, Job Type: Attorney, Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 3 Years, A law firm in Peoria, IL, is seeking a General Liability Associate Attorney.Job Overview:The General Liability Associate Attorney will be responsible for handling a variety of legal tasks related to claims and causes of action, including extensive legal research, drafting of briefs and pleadings, representing clients in court and depositions, and trial preparation.Duties:Conduct file review and legal analysis of claims and causes of actionPerform extensive legal research and draft substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefsMaintain an annual billable amount of 1950 hoursRepresent clients in court, arbitrations, and depositionsDraft and respond to discovery requestsRetain and collaborate with expert witnessesPrepare for trials and attend as necessaryMay require some travelRequirements:3-5 years of experience in General Liability/Trucking/TransportationJ.D. degree from an ABA-approved law schoolAdmitted to practice in the state of Illinois; other states a plusSkills:Superior analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong research abilitiesExcellent written and oral communication skillsStrong work ethic and ability to self-manageTeam player with excellent client skillsPrompt responsiveness to e-mail and phone inquiriesExcellent telephone mannerBenefits:Innovative financial incentive bonus programProactive support and training for marketing objectivesExcellent benefits, including 401k matchExceptional growth and advancement opportunities
